At the tender age of 9, I embarked on a journey that would forever shape my life. My mother, my guiding light, taught me the art of crochet. The joy I felt in creating with my own hands knew no bounds. I adorned my hair, my dolls, and even my loyal canine companions with my handcrafted treasures. It was during those early years that I ventured into selling my creations to my schoolmates.
One fateful day, the principal’s office became the stage for a grumbling chorus of parents who questioned my sales activities without the proper licenses. Their complaints left me feeling upset, disappointed, and disrespected. Regrettably, I stopped and put my crochet dreams on hold.
A Stitch Rekindled
Fast forward 40 years, and the world found itself in the grip of a pandemic. Life, once bustling, turned calm and melancholic, resembling a premature retirement. It was during this unexpected pause that I rediscovered my love for crochet. Starting from scratch, I refreshed my skills, and in that moment, “Momo Crochet Handmade” was born.
Momo, the endearing nickname of my 75-year-old mother, has been a crochet virtuoso for nearly half a century. She has crafted cardigans, shawls, blouses, scarves, and winter wear with unmatched skill. Her artistry is a testament to her dedication and passion.
